Miedecke replaced two-time Bathurst winner Tony Longhurst in The Boat Works Holden.

Nathan Pretty managed to walk away with the round win. Reigning champ, Gold Coast-based Ryal Harris, has moved back into the championship lead after the third race, which was deemed a non-race.

One of the most spectacular incidents in the V8 Utes 12-year history marred the final race of round seven.

Before all thatMiedecke was positive about his chances on Saturday, and with good reason.

“Managed to move forward from eighth to sixth in race one and set a new lap record along the way! #25 The Boat Works ute is a rocket when I can put a lap together,” he wrote on Facebook.

That changed 24 hours later.

“Sunday wasn’t so kind to us. Broken steering from contact caused a race 2 DNF, then race three cut short by one of the biggest crashes I’ve ever seen in the Utes. Thanks again to Cliffy, Brett, Tony L and the whole crew at The Boat Works, was a pleasure driving for you this weekend!

“Holy dooly. Happy to see my mates walk away from this one… I wasn’t too far behind, lucky to escape with just a mirror blown off!”

The V8 Utes will be back on track for the final Round of the Series at the Sydney Telstra 500on December 6-8 at Sydney Olympic Park.

Bathurst had its kangaroo, Surfers Paradise had a lizard on the track. Check the picsThis story Administrator ready to work first appeared on Nanjing Night Net.
