Excellent conditions greet keen shooters

Nine rifle shooters competed under almost ideal conditions over 300 metres at the Narromine-Dubbo rifle range on Saturday. The small wind changes still caused problems and at the end of the first stage, Dave Forster led F-class with a 54/60, while in C-grade, Lachlan Simpson had fired a 40/50.

In the second stage, Alan Taylor hit a 57/60 in F-class to win the badge with an off-rifle score of 110/120.

In B-grade, Noel Thompson scored a 71/100, while C-grade went to Lachlan Simpson with 82/100.

The weekly handicap trophy was taken out by Rob Rainbow after shooting a good second stage.

Individual scores were:

Clive Simpson 42/54, F-class total 96/120; Lachlan Simpson 40/42, off-rifle 82, handicap 15, total 97/100 Noel Thompson 36/35, o/r 71, hcp 18, total 89/100; Scott Monaghan 50/51, F-class total 101/120; John Sidoti 32/29, o/r 61, hcp 30, total 91/100; Dave Forster 54/54, F-class total 108/120; Rob Rainbow 50/58, F-class total 108/120; Alan Taylor 53/57, F-class total 110/120; Henry Taylor 31/48, F-class total 79/120.

Next Saturday shooting is from 400 metres starting at 12.30pm.
